changes

I'm attempting to make some changes to my blog. It's kind of tricky since I don't know a thing about graphic design or coding. Hopefully I can figure it out. I'd like to have a menu bar and a new header. But I shall try and tackle those things another day. For now I will just shuffle some things around. I really hope I don't mess anything up. Tonight I'll leave you with some photos of today's lunch. Tomato, garbanzo beans, parsley, cows cous, red onion, lemon, olive oil and salt. It was the perfect day for a nice cold salad. family

I love family gatherings and am so glad I get to see my relatives multiple times a month. Yesterday we got together for one of my little cousins tenth birthday. Our gatherings usually consist of delicious mexican food and the cousins getting into some kind of shenanigans. It's fun and I am so grateful for each of them.

Juice.

I have recently begun juicing. I often use to make smoothies but these days i have been craving pure juice. Ideally I would like to substitute one meal for juice but we will see how that goes. I load my juices with lots of veggies and fruit so they have been pretty filling. Since I don't actually have a "juicer" I have been using my blendtec to make these fruity concoctions. It's such a powerful blender so it does a wonderful job of liquifying the fruits/veggies.

This past week my go to juice consisted of

1 handful of blueberries
3 clementine oranges
2 handfuls of spinach (sometimes I put 3)
1 large apple (seeds and all)
1 banana

I'm really hoping I can keep up the juicing. It's been fairly simple so I know its attainable. I do need to run to the market for some more fruit. I think some strawberries or blackberries would be wonderful to juice with.

sushi

Below are some photos of my cousin and I at dinner tonight. There were three of us but one of them was being a little camera shy. They are such great girls and I am so glad that we get to see each other so often. We have always been really close even though the girls are quite a bit younger then me. They have always seemed like little sisters. I adore and cherish the time spent together.

a new favorite

DSC_0015-001DSC_0018 made this cake a couple days ago and oh my was it delicious. I got the recipe from this wonderful blog. So many great eats and her photos are beautifully styled. I could look through her blog for hours. When I stumbled upon this particularly recipe I just knew I had to make it. Often I'll look over a recipe and tweak it a little to put my own spin on it. But nope, not this one. I knew my taste buds would like it just the way it was. I definitely will be making it again. It was so very moist and had the most wonderfully strong black tea flavor. I think the only thing I'll do differently next time is make a Italian buttercream as opposed to an American.I really enjoy the lightness and versatility of a good Italian buttercream opposed to the denseness of an American.

coastal scenes

Snapped some photos of the beautiful California coastal scenery on my train ride home from visiting a friend and her precious kiddos in Arroyo Grande a couple days ago. DSC_0155DSC_0111DSC_0138DSC_0118DSC_0175-001DSC_0134DSC_0182
I love the airstream trailers above. It would be a dream to come true to one day own one. I just love the sleek and old fashioned look of them. I could only imagine the road trips we could go on. Swoon...

March

The plan was to write everyday for the month of March.
Unfortunately its seems I have failed before I even began.
I use to be so good about regularly updating my blog and I have every intention of doing it again.
I hope to post more projects, more photos of my daily life, and more of my baking with recipes included (as requested by my friend Marie)
I really enjoy blogging. It has been such a great way to keep my photos and memories easily accesible to me and those who partook in them.
Im excited about the idea of me blogging every day this month but let's just hope I set some time a side to actually do it.

Today I will leave you with some photos of my Mother's birthday celebration. We celebrated at a tea house with my sister, grandma, aunt, and mother's friends.DSC_0072DSC_0071DSC_0075DSC_0038DSC_0048-001DSC_0032DSC_0053DSC_0008
