Since returning from my weekend away I have been quite busy sewing and sorting through unfinished projects that desperately need my attention. Do you start new projects before you've finished your last? Oh goodness I do it way too much. There is so much I want to make and not nearly enough time.
On Thursday I packed my bags full of sewing supplies and headed to the desert with wonderful friends to quilt for 3 days. We sewed morning til night taking breaks only to eat. And let me tell you the food was delightful. Smoked meat, soups, and yummy salads. I was only able to work on one project the entire trip, a Lone Star quilt. It's a lot more time consuming then I thought it would be. I just finished the top of the quilt last night. Now I need to run to the fabric store to buy backing and batting. Here is a sneak peak of the process of the quilt making. I'll post more pictures of it after I finish quilting and binding it.

Little Knits
It's raining today and that makes me so very happy. I really wish we had more of this cold dreary weather. It makes me want to eat a hot bowl of soup, sip some tea, and knit. This morning I made some delicious cranberry scones. I think I have a new favorite recipe.
I've been sick these past few days so Iv'e been staying in doors lately. I find myself sitting on my bed or the couch knitting quite a bit. Yesterday I finished making a darling baby sweater. I have yet to make a sweater for myself and thought I'd test my endurance with something small first. Looks like that was a good idea because I honestly don't think I have the patience to knit something so big like an adult size sweater. But perhaps the reason I got bored with this little sweater was because it was the knit stitch over and over again! The pattern can be found here. Now I am just dying to start a new project. Maybe something for me.
Well that's all for now. I'll be back soon with more crafty stuff. Tonight I'm leaving for a quilting retreat and I am so excited. I'm planning on making a lone star quilt!!
Until then

Farmer's Market Fun
I took the littles to the farmers market.
They sure are precious to me. I adore each of them and am so thankful that the Lord has put them in my life.
We walked around the market and had a wonderful time sampling all the delicious food. The girls especialy loved looking at all the vendors who sold jewelry.
And baby boy was as happy as can be people watching in his stroller.
After walking for a while the kiddos grew tired and hungry so we ate some fruit and then hit the road.
It was a lovely trip to the farmers market.
Oh and this coming week I plan to do a bit of baking and crafting. I'll be sure to post photos of whatever I make!

Grannies
Lately my hands have been quite busy crocheting colorful granny squares. I've been taking advantage of my free time and been busy working on all the projects I didn't have time for when I was in school. It feels so good to just sit, relax, and create. Something I truly missed.
Well I have quite a few more grannies to make before this blanket is finished. I'll be sure to share the results.
