lazy Sunday

After a long work week it was nice to have a lazy Sunday afternoon. We went to church in the morning and then headed to a friends house for lunch and relaxation. Around seven I headed home. It takes me a little over 2 hours to get home from Xativa. The trip involves lots of walking, the metro, and a train. I really treasure this time alone traveling from village to village. The long train ride through the beautiful spanish countryside is something I have yet to tire of. It is something I will definitely miss upon my return to the US.

Alicante

Hola amigos y familia. I'm sorry I haven't been the best blogger lately. I have been without internet connection for the past few days. I am pretty exhausted from a really busy weekend so now I will just leave you with some photos from my time spent in Alicante. Tomorrow I will be back with photos from Xativa.

When I go back to California
to my LOVELY home
There is so much I want to do.

1. Give my family 100's of kisses.
2. Bake a cake.
3. Tend to my garden and make something amazing with the veggies. (if my plants are still alive.)
4. Go thrifting.
5. have a picnic.
6. go on a good ole' American road trip.
7. tell an explosion of stories from my European adventures.
8. More kisses and cuddles for my family and friends.
9. Speak ENGLISH for hours at a time.
10. Sew something beautiful.
11. Visit with my dear friends.
12. Bake some more!

Swoon. What excitement I will have to look forward too! For now I am over the moon excited to be spending 10 days in Xativa in about 2 weeks. I can hardly wait! Please pray that my last weeks of working in the home I am in go well.

I can't believe I only have a month left in Spain. Where did the time go?

4th of July

I made sure to wear red white and blue to celebrate my dear countries independence! I am so proud to be an American. Sure we haven't always made the best decisions as a whole. We are in no way the perfect country. But I do love our nation and many of the people that make up it. My prayer is that as a whole our nation can glorify Christ. I know it seems impossible but thats why I must pray because I know that my God makes the impossible possible. Woah super cheesy but it couldn't be more true.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the republic for which it stands,

with liberty and justice for all.

Xativa

On Saturday before meeting with my dear friends. I walked around Xativa solo. This feeling of exploring foreign places on my own has become all too familiar. I really enjoy getting to completely take in a little city/village. There is nothing like Looking at my surrounding, Listening to the sounds the village makes, Feeling the cool breeze on my warm skin, Tasting the different pastries and desserts they have to offer, and smelling the sweet scent of wild flowers. I take it all in. Trying to memorize everything about it before my return home.
Oh how I love to explore.

Tomorrow is a special day in the good ole USA. I'm really bummed I won't be stateside to celebrate with my nation. It is one my favorite things to celebrate. Such a fun holiday it is. Well to all my fellow Americans I hope you have a wonderful fourth.

I worked quite a bit today. I didn't really have time to go out. But I did manage to walk to the market during a short break. I noticed the cherries were on sale so I had to buy some.

Glad I bought such a huge flat. They are so addicting. Looks like I'll be eating them all day tomorrow.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have time to go out and will have some photos of Spain instead of bowls of cherries...

Wedding

Ahhh I am so tired. But the good kind of tired. I am exhausted from a lovely weekend. It was spent with sweet friends. On Saturday we went to a wonderful wedding at the church and today we went to Sunday morning service and then lounged around my friends house and watched tv. So strange watching American movies dubbed in Spanish.If only I could read lips then I could understand what they are saying. Or perhaps the best option would be is for me to actually learn Spanish!

P.S. Espana won the Eurocup!!!! Wooohoooo!! The Spanish are going crazy. Fireworks, horns honking, noisemakers. I have a feeling they will be celebrating into the wee hours of the night. The Spanish LOVE to party. Hopefully I can catch some Zzzzz's.
