This is one of my favorite quilts. It's rather small but looks lovely draped across the couch. I made it last year for my mothers birthday. The pattern is from the book The Practical Guide to Patchwork I used 40's and 50's vintage scraps for the leaves and am very pleased with how it turned out. I would love to have another one of these quilts but honestly I don't plan on cutting out hundreds of leaves anytime soon. Boy was that time consuming. I think a large one would make a darling bedspread. By the way that's my older brother holding up the quilt. He's the best. Thanks David.
Happy Easter Weekend Friends!

Esther, I love all your quilts! The appliqué leaves do look pretty time consuming but it's a gorgeous quilt so it's definitely been worth it ;)
I love the dotted binding, the cute cherry(?) fabric on the back and of course the quilting!
Did you embroider the label?
ps: your handsome brother should appear more often on the blog ;)
I'm just finishing up my first quilt and I want to label it just like this one. Did you do the embroidery before or after the quilting? Any tips?
Thanks!
Hi anon. I just lightly wrote out the message in pencil onto the fabric and then put it into my embroidery hoop and embroidered it. It was really easy. I didn't stabilize the fabric or anything.
Thanks for stopping by.
