Zig Zag

The top of my zig zag quilt is finished. I have been working on it the past couple of days in between homework and other random things. I think it turned out lovely for not using a pattern.

Now I just need to find the time to quilt it.

Gah I have so much to do.
I am entering a sewing contest in which the dress that I will be making needs to be done by the 24th of April. I have yet to buy the pattern or the fabric. I am just praying that I can do this. The top prize is $50,000 dollars. That would pay for my trip to London. It would be ahhhhmazing if I was a finalist in the contest. So much to do so little time.

March I wouldn't mind if you stay a little longer...

Gosh I am so not ready for April.

Spring Rolls

Today I made some super easy spring rolls. I looked for recipes online but I couldn't really find any that I liked. Im really trying to stick to the Daniel Fast and eating spring rolls makes it a lot easier. So I made my own little recipe and here is what I came up with. I put some lettuce, sprouts, green onions, mint (this is my favorite ingredient), cilantro and carrots onto the spring roll paper



Then I simply turned under the edges and rolled them right up. They are then ready to be enjoyed. See easy peasy and oh so delicious.



These rolls taste wonderful with peanut sauce. I bought the peanut sauce and roll paper from a local market that sells lots of ingredients for Asain dishes but I read on the line that they are available at nearly all supermarkets. Hopefully soon I will try to make a peanut sauce of my own.

For Me

I love to make things for the people that I love. I rarely find myself making something just for me. Especially lately because I have been making a ton of things in hopes of selling it all. But recently I bought some fabric from one of my favorite collections just for me.

Isn't it pretty. It's from Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane line. I think I have bought fabric from this collection at least four times and I plan on buying more. It is just that pretty...I washed, ironed and folded the fabric and then later began cutting it all.

I'm making a zig zag quilt so I cut lots of triangles. I'm not using a pattern I figured I could just wing it. I really hope all goes well.

Mimi Makes Me Happy

So little Mimers is pretty much all better since her surgery on Thursday.

She is back to protecting the house.

She has so much energy and all she wants to do is play but she is really not suppose to The vet told me not to let her run and jump on things for five days. She keeps running around the house and jumping on and off furniture. Eeek. I hope she heals okay.

I love laying in the front yard with her. Yay for Spring.
Tomorrow I start my Biology and Math classes. I also have another class but I honestly don't really know what it is. I just had to take it because pretty much all the classes I wanted were full. Darn budget cuts. So I am taking this class that feels in a GE requirement. I hope it all works out. I am praying for good professers that actually enjoy teaching.

Cute Cute

Okay aren't these so cute? They are little dessert erasers. How cool is that? I know, I swear I am like a five year old but I just had to get some of these to cheer me up when I am doing hours of math homework. The ice cream cone and Popsicles are my favorite.

My spring break is over and I feel like it just begun.
Where did the time go?
I will be hitting the books in no time.
unfortunately...
but at least this is my last quarter before summer. I just can't wait til school is out and I am free to do whatever my heart desires.
but until then I will be working hard on my studies.

Poor Little Mimi

Today my little Mimi got spayed. It was so sad when we picked her up she was so out of it all she would do was move her tail. She is extremely exhausted and probably so sore. I am hoping she heals very quickly because I have school on Tuesday. Well that's all I got tonight I have lot's of pictures to show tomorrow.

Woohoo I finally passed Math 11! I was so worried that I wouldn't after taking my final. It was super hard. But I did it. Now I am on to Math 12. I am just praying it doesn't take me 3 tries to pass the class.

O and here is a picture from David's Battle of the Big Bands concert on Saturday.. It was amazing. I love big band especially Glen Miller's music. The first song they played was Moonlight Serenade :)

Delicious

I went to Laguna Beach with my friends Julian and Stephanie today. It was absolutely wonderful. First we ate at Las Brisas Restaurant which overlooked the ocean. The food was amazing. My friends Stephanie's father is a manager there and hooked us up with some deliciousness. First we got...

Then I ordered this yummy vegetarian salad because of the Daniel Fast.

But I did have to cheat the fast a little when they brought out the dessert.

Who can say no strawberries. I can't help that they were covered in chocolate.

I want to go back and eat there when I am not on the Daniel Fast that way I don't have to worry about what I am ordering. This was really a test for me.

After our amazing lunch we walked around Laguna and then sat on the beach for a while. It was such a lovely day.

wonderful day

The weather was perfect today. I got up picked up Krista and this little cutie

Then we went to Souplantation which was delicious but a difficult place to eat at when you are doing the Daniel Fast and can't eat bread, meat, sugar, dairy, and other stuff. I wanted some bread and ice cream so bad.
After I came home and laid in the front yard. I was out there for hours. I even fell asleep for an hour (with Mimi in my arms to protect me of course) I could hardly believe it because I rarely can take naps. My body never lets me. O but it was so nice.

Later I started craving something sweet. To satisfy my need for something sugary I had bananas, blueberries, strawberries, honey oats, and walnuts drizzled with honey. It was really good but me craving for ice cream/frozen yogurt is still here. I just want something creamy. Only two more weeks.

First Day of Spring

So Gaby and I went to the Dreamcenter today only to find out that their wasn't any adopt a block. Because of this we decided to go and see Gaby's sweet cousins who live not to far from the Dreamcenter. We went to the Farmer's market at Gaby's cousins school. Then we headed off to the high school across the street that Gaby's other cousin, Mariah, went to. It was a beautiful school. Well at least the architecture was (it was built in the early twenties) The school itself was actually pretty run down but it had a lot of character. Here are a few pictures.

After we went to Hollenbeck park and hung out in the little work out area.

Then we sat in the shade and enjoyed the cool breeze for hours. Ahhh It was such a beautiful day. I am so excited for Spring.

On our way home I had Gaby pull over so I could get some mangos. O my goodness they were the best ones I ever had so sweet and wonderful.

O my goodness...
My room is a mess!! Ugh. I need to do some major spring cleaning. But who wants to clean on their break. Not me. But I will. Really, I must. I can't even find my camera charger. Eeek. O how embarrassing. I think I will give my car and my room a nice deep cleaning.

Spring Break

Woohoo Spring Break is finally here and I couldn't be more excited. Who know what I will do this break. Maybe go to the beach or up to the mountains before all the snow melts aways. The possibilities are endless.

stressful test

So tomorrow is my big math final. Right now I have about a B+ in the class but if I don't do well on this final I might have to take the class all over again for the third time. EEek. Why must they make one test worth so many points? Ahhh I'm so nervous. I feel like there is so much math material and that I may have forgotten some. But I am going to study all morning before the final to warm up my brain. Then I have two more finals on Thursday. I am really worried about those too. I just want to do well. I need a good GPA to go to London. If my GPA is to low to go because of a few dumb classes I will be devastated. I am just praying that everything works out. I can't wait til the stress goes away and my long awaited break begins.
